OUR TEAM

Shalen House RSW, MSW, BA

I’m a Registered Social Worker in Alberta with a Master’s degree in Social Work.  In the last two decades, I’ve had the privilege of helping individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult moments.

I specialize in guiding you through the complexities of end-of-life planning and providing post-loss support. Whether it's managing paperwork and red-tape, navigating healthcare systems, or making tough decisions, I’m here to help with the practical side of things. At the same time, I offer emotional support and mental health counselling to help you cope during these challenging times.

If you’re facing a chronic illness, need assistance with decision-making, or simply need someone to walk with you through uncertain times, I’m here to offer strategies, clarity, and comfort.

My goal is to help you make informed choices that bring peace of mind to you and your loved ones. With patience and understanding, I’ll walk with you every step of the way to ensure your wishes are respected and your path forward feels clearer.

Christine Williamson RSW, BSW

Life’s transitions - especially those surrounding the end of life - can bring up big questions, deep emotions, and a need for guidance. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

For over 24 years, I’ve walked alongside individuals and families during these significant moments, offering support, advocacy, and a space to explore what truly matters. Together, we’ll navigate the systems, access the right resources, and, most importantly, focus on what brings meaning to you.

An important part of my work is guiding people in creating end-of-life legacies that serve as a lasting touchstone for their loved ones - something that reflects your values, your story, and the impact you want to leave behind. It’s about finding comfort in what you’re passing forward and knowing that your legacy will continue to bring connection and meaning long after you’re gone.

If you’re looking for someone to walk this journey with you, I’m here.

Why would I want to work

with a Social Worker?

In Alberta, Canada, a Registered Social Worker (RSW) is a trained and licensed regulated professional.

Here’s what they do:

Assessing and Helping:

Social workers examine different aspects of a person’s life,

such as their emotions, thoughts, relationships, and environment,

to understand the challenges they’re facing.

Then, they create a plan to provide the best help possible.

Counseling and Support:

Social workers also offer counseling to help work through challenges

like mental health issues, family conflicts, grief, and more.

Additionally they explore practical community resources for additional support.

Social Workers are registered with a professional organization,

the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

This ensures they have the right education and experience.

To become a Registered Social Worker in Alberta,

people typically complete a university degree in social work

and have many additional hours of supervised practice.

They are also obligated to follow the social work Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

Social workers play a key role in providing tailored emotional support, advocacy and

systems navigation for those who are struggling.
